Ultrastudio.org main workflow of Java applets includes:
- Uploading the applet through the Submit your applet web form.
- Building the applet from the source code on our server.
- Displaying the applet source code in our for reviewing system.
- Approving applet for execution in production pages. Applet home page that is automatically created after uploading the applet is not a production page.
- Adding applet to production pages through Wiki edit, inserting [[Applet: ... ]] tag. This is the only intended and possible way to insert the applet, and the only one following our production workflow.
- Launching the applet from production pages (encyclopedic articles, not from applet home page) using the Web browser running Sun/Oracle Java, OpenJDK plugin or Mac OS Java browser plugin, through clicking on the Run link or on the applet itself. Launching with other tools or not from our website (during offline browsing, for instance) does not belong to our main workflow as we are not sure if the security manager is active.
The Main workflow does not cover issues that may happen when installing or updating Java. However recommended Java vendors like Oracle have a good reputation so problems there are unlikely.
