This project provides the alternative viewer of the Mandelbrot set and also has the Julia set viewing mode (use J to toggle between modes). It replaces the previous viewer that was initially in quite a raw shape, and even if the current versions are in better shape (after we spent some time on them), the Mandelbrot2 is still ahead. For instance, it provides an area selection rectangle that can be dragged in arbitrary direction and not just top to bottom left to right.

This applet is usable without any preparation but has some interesting additional capabilities than are available after reading the quick guide:

• Dragging with Left-mouse-button - zooming into the selected area
• Dragging with Left-mouse-button and Shift-key - moving to the specified offset
• Moving mouse with Control-key pressed - interactive preview of corresponding Julia mode of the fractal
• Left-mouse-button and Control-key - activation/deactivation of Julia mode for the selected point of fractal
• Right-mouse-button - increasing the number of iterations (preciseness)
• Escape-key - reinitialization
• Space-key - next fractal
• I-key - zoom in
• O-key - zoom out
• J-key - switching Julia mode
• P-key - changing the active palette
• S-key - smoothing the transitions between iteration colors
• A-key - 5-point antialiasing of the image
