He started to write his first applets in somewhat 1998, to illustrate scientific projects on mathematical modelling he was doing in Manchester university as post doc. Since then, he was a programming researcher for a while and now works as a professional developer, leader of the small team.
In the past he contributed over 100 000 LOC to GNU Classpath project that has the goal to make at that time proprietary Java Free. Most of this contribution was the implementation of the fully functional CORBA framework that was capable to interoperate with Sun's standard framework, but he also worked on error tolerant HTML parsing and many Swing components. GNU Classpath is now less important than it was in the past, put at time of these contributions it was one of the most serious attempts to free Java platform from the proprietary control of the single vendor.
Audrius is also an administrator of Lithuanian Wikipedia.
Ultrastudio.org administration is his voluntary contribution to the project, not related to that he is doing at work. Audrius uses User:audrius (high rights) and User:audriusa (regular rights) accounts.
